2023 Australian Championships and ASOC Results

  Newcastle medalists from the Australian   Champs and Australian Schools Carnival

Fourteen Newcastle orienteers travelled to Western Australia to compete in the 'Kambarang Carnival', held 30 September-7 October, which featured the 2023 Australian Sprint, Middle, Long Distance and Relay Championships as well as the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships (ASOC).

Medal winners in the Australian Championships

Middle Distance: 1. Jim Lee (M75A), 2. Damien Enderby (M45A), 2. Jennifer Enderby (W55A), 3. Martina Craig (W50A). 
Relays (as members of NSW teams): 1. Erika Enderby & Mikayla Enderby (W20E), 1. Oskar Mella (M20E), 2. Rebecca Craig (W16A), 2. Jennifer Enderby & Martina Craig (W45A),  2. Damien Enderby (M45A), 3. Jim Lee (M75+A), 3. Peter Orr (M/W35+AS).
Long Distance: 1. Jennifer Enderby (W55A), 2. Jim Lee (M75A), 2. Carolyn Chalmers (W80A), 2. Mikayla Enderby (W20AS), 3. Martina Craig (W50A), 3. Emile Altmann (M35AS).
Sprint: 1. Jennifer Enderby (W55A), 1. Jim Lee (M75A), 2. Damien Enderby (M45A).

Medal winners in the Australian Schools Championships

Sprint: 1. Erika Enderby (Senior Girls).
Long Distance: 3. Erika Enderby (Senior Girls).
Relay: 1. Erika Enderby & Rebecca Craig (Senior Girls).
Erika & Rebecca were also members of the winning state team with NSW finishing on top of the ASOC pointscore. Erika was also selected in the Australian Schools Honour Team.
